Chet J, Jim M, and I went out with Capt. Mike S to do a shake down cruise and a little inshore fishing to see if we could catch a trout worthy of winning this months target fish of the month. Throughout the day the wind came and went which at times made for some really fast drifts. lol Mid channel fishing and fishing along the Anclote sandbar didn’t proved uneventful for the most part with only a couple small trout being caught. We were fishing with plastic, shrimp and crank baits all day. We decided because of the wind to fish the flats in front of the power plant which provided steady but slow action. I did catch one keeper trout that was 181/4″. Mike picture below caught the first trout of the day which for a long time looked like it was going to be the only trout of the day. Chet had a nice size trout on but lost it bringing it in the boat and Jim insisted on only catching small trout just for the practice
he claimed. Itwasanother fun day of fishing with FOC friends.
