3/12/15 Fishing report Mike B

Started early out of Anclote River Park in the yak as the sun came up heading out around the islands. From 7 to 8 the trout were hitting well. Caught 6 over 15 inches – biggest was 18in, kept 5, threw back one along with a big old catfish and a ladyfish. went searching for reds but they were barely tailing at all and not seemingly interested in my offerings. Since the bite stopped and low tide was getting close I headed to the house to clean the trout. After grabbing some lunch I headed back to same area as the water was recovering from a 1030 low tide. It was about 1:30 and the only thing biting was little redfish. After an hour I started getting into keeper reds. I caught 3 keeper sized and kept my two. One was 18, one 19 and one was 21. Ran out of shrimp so headed home by 4pm. First double limit in forever – next goal a grand slam! All caught on live and dead shrimp on both a free line or a 1/4 oz jig head with light spinning tackle. Mike B
