Fred M, Denis S and I went fishing Friday. We left from Belle Harbour marina and trolled out to Anclote River Park with no luck. We first ran south to Caledesi Island and fished in several areas with no luck. We trolled on the west side of the island and back up to the Anclote lighthouse without a bite. Finally in water from 3′ to 5′ in depth we caught a few undersize trout. We continued on north along the Anclote sand bar and picked up a couple pompano that were just short of being legal and a couple more undersize trout. Late in the afternoon we went back across to fish in front of the power plant in 3′ to 5′ of water and caught some more just under size trout along with some ladyfish, lizard fish and pin fish. Nothing to brag about but we did catch quite a few fish. We were throwing all artificial for the most part. Denis cut up a pin fish or two and soaked the cut bait with no luck, not even a shark. Jigs with white and silver plastic seemed to work best.
