6.6.15 Fishing Report Mike K

Russ Thompson, Jack Hexter and myself embarked on our last shot at Red Snapper for the season. After filling the livewell with live bait, we headed west for a 60 mile run. We luckily missed an active line of thunderstorms in front of us. After bouncing along for 2 hours we stopped at a promising spot and within 30 minutes filled the boat with our limit of large keeper red grouper. We released 2 more keeper- sized reds and pulled anchor and headed west again. We finally reached the snapper grounds and spent the rest of the afternoon catching a large gag, a large mangrove and lane snapper and losing numerous large ones. We also caught a couple of feisty sharks. By 4:00
The fish box was full and we headed home. Not one red snapper but what a great day fishing. The only issue now was who would get to sleep in jack’s beanbag chair for the long ride home.
