Topics include techniques, strategies, tackle, and skills used to increase fishing knowledge. Also, at each meeting, there is a 50/50 raffle and an attendance raffle. Wish To Fish Oct. 16, 2017
Each year the Fish-On Club hosts our Wish-To-Fish outing for abandoned, abused, neglected and underprivileged children. Our club takes approximately 30 children on a day long fishing trip aboard the charter boat, Miss Virginia. We provide breakfast, lunch, drinks, afternoon snacks, Club tee shirts and volunteers to assist the children with the fishing. The children selected come from the Joshua House and the Hope Children’s Home (group homes). We have also taken the Boys and Girls Club and active military personal returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Club promotes community involvement as a group. We have adopted a section of Main Street in New Port Richey and volunteers from the Club clean up once each quarter. We also assist the Local YMCA with their Kids Fishing Day and Officiate other Fishing Tournaments as needed.
The Club holds several tournaments a year with cash payouts. Usually these tournaments are for species including redfish, trout, snook, kingfish, grouper, spanish mackerel, etc. These tournaments are for members only and are funded solely by member contributions.
We want all members to enjoy the sport of fishing. If there is any way a member or any officer or board member can help in this effort, Just ASK !!! Maybe it’s asking which bait is best or what knots work best? No questions are considered trivial, as we want you to catch fish and enjoy the camaraderie with other members.
We are a social group with many members who are retired and fish during the week. It’s great if you have a boat, however, you do not have to own a boat to be a member. All members receive a listing of all the members in the club and hopefully you will be able to fish with a number of them, whether it is on your boat or theirs!
Membership dues are only $35.00, due in December, and pro-rated by month starting in April. There are Tee Shirts, Hats and Iron-on Patches with the Club logo for sale at every meeting.
Welcome to our NEW members
