Your Fishing Report I set out of Hudson around noon with Rick U. We fished several locations between Hudson and the Cotee River using artificial bait and lures in about 8-10 feet of 54 degree water. We caught about 10 Spanish Mackerel and a Trout. The most interesting part of the trip was sighting a Cobia resting on the bottom as we drifted in 8 feet of water. He wasn’t interested in our bait, but it was pretty cool to see. I got to try out my lucky “Fish-On” shirt too!
If this report includes a tournament entry please state the species and lenth of the fish caught in this box. Mackerel-various length
Trout-14 inches

The list that was emailed showing people with boats, and needing a captain to fish with had one error.  One of our new members Peter Steeneck is still looking to fish with a captain but the phone number on the sheet to contact him is in error.  The number is 727-432-0988.  For all members who are still looking for a captains and anglers  to fish with don’t hesitate to call those on the list still showing room on their boat or needing a boat ride, this is the reason we have posted the notice.

Your Fishing Report Fishing with club member Barry inn Brasher Park area.  Had to wait until about 9:15 to have enough water to go out.  Not much of a bit until the water came up.  About 11:00 the black drum found us. We caught 13 keepers up to 23″ along with keeper sheepshead.  We also caught at least a dozen short redfish and some mangrove snapper in the next hour and a half.  Moved off the black drum spot to look for bigger redfish but no luck with that.  Really good day until the cloud cover moved in about 1

  • I left Hudson today with Team Uffalussy. We made a quick stop near the end of the main channel and then proceeded to a spot about 4 miles out from there where we had a good catch in the past. We landed many Macks and some sea bass throwing a variety of plastics, spoons, and live bait. Kept one Bass and some Macks. We then headed south to an area that has a plateau about 4 feet surrounded by 7-9 feet. More Macks there. We drifted from there for some time in water up to 10 feet and 66 degrees. Late in the day I hooked what we estimated to be a 36 inch cobia on a jig head with a chartreuse grub. I brought him to the boat, but after several attempts to net him, he escaped to be caught another day. All in all a fun day of catching.

Your Fishing Report Took the better half out on the last day of the year long fishing tournament, and behold he hooked into this nice 32″ red fish in our canal in Gulf Harbors.

It hit a live shrimp.

Your Fishing Report Mike, his visiting friend Dave, and I left the dock at 8:30am. Went N.W. from marker 4 about 20 mile to 45 ft of water. The seas were 2-4 ft swells (occasional 4’s). caught a bunch of grunts some Sea Bass. tried a couple spots around there then went 10 miles S.W. to Jim M spots. There we caught more grunts, a couple short grouper, few nice size Sea Bass. We did not keep any of the catch. Seas flattened out on the way home. It was a beautiful warm day and we had a great time. Chet did introduce Mike and Dave to Capt. Sam Crutchfield by playing his music Fishing music on on the Bluetooth speaker all day. Thank you Mike for a very enjoyable day on the water.

Your Fishing Report Mike T and myself  left boat ramp out of Anclote at 9:00 a.m., fished the out going tide and not a bite and we tried 4 different spots. As soon as the tide changed we were catching everything. Lots of nice size  tarpon ( ladies) and at least 25-30  small trout, 3  gag grouper, and only 1 Spanish mackerel.

We ended up in front of Howard park, and all of a sudden out of no where come this crab buoy  coming towards the front of the boat very fast, what a site to see. Now you must watch the video below to see  what we saw. We will probably never see this again.

Thanks Mike  for a great day  on the water.

Your Fishing Report:

Denis S and I did the installation of a center console grab bar to the boat and finished up around 1pm so we decide to do a little fishing. We tolled up the Anclote from the doc in Tarpon Springs at Belle Harbour Marina and caught two nice size Jack’s on our way out to the flats. We fished the flats in front of the power plant for about 3 hours drifting with a sea anchor to slow us down. We caught a lot of small trout and Denis caught one nice keeper 21″ long. We also caught ladyfish, blow fish and black bass. We were using pink plastic and Gulp new penny soft baits.  All and all a nice day on the water.

Your Fishing Report Kayak fishing out of Brasher Park with club members Phil and Barry. Fishing through low tide in some deeper cuts we were able to catch 10 keeper black drum up to 21″, a mid slot trout, and several small redfish.  Not a super day for fishing, but enough of a bite and conversation to keep it fun and for this time of the year the weather was the star of the day.
