Your Fishing Report Hooked up with Bob L at his house out of sea pines ( Hudson) early sunday morning. we stopped at the end of his channel , and on the first cast Jean hooked up with a cobia. She had it on for about 15-20 seconds and it got off the hook. Bob saw it and said it was at least a keeper size.

then we went out abaout a mile or so and drifted most of the day. Bob & I didn’t get much casting. We were drifting pins and sand perch behind the boat all day, and we caught was about 10 small sharks, no cobia hits at all.

Jean caught 2 nice Spanish on a her favorite gold spoon.

One time Jean thought she had a cobia on, but it wasn’t, sure fought like one, but as you can see in the video it ended up being a 27″ lady fish, what a fight it gave her.

Want to thank bob for a great time out on the water.

Your Fishing Report After having the boat out of the water for annual maintenance I needed to get her wet and back on the lift. I left Nick’s Park around 9 am. I tried various spots along the way from the Cottee to Anclote Island. Only real luck was a single Spanish Mackerel that was 22 in. Caught with a weighted silver spoon. Nothing much else to report. Was able to break a rod putting the boat away so always a joy!

Your Fishing Report After putting boat in at Nick’s Park, I left with friend Joe and headed to Anclote to net some whitebait. Bait was in plentiful supply and we soon filled bait well. We then proceeded to several hard bottom areas, and with the help of chum, caught lots of mackerel up to 24 inches.
Additionally we caught 1 18 inch trout, a bunch of small sea bass and lots of blowfish. A super nice day on the water and absolutely beautiful weather. Best of all, a short ride home.

Your Fishing Report Hooked up with neighbor Kurt again. It was flat as could be out there. We first started at the North channel of G.H. and drifted for 45 minutes and not a bite, but we did see 6 nice large cobia swimming with sting rays and manatees. We tried everything but they would not hit anything.

Then we went for some white bait. There is so much bait at the new still house on the north side of the Anclote island, 2 cast and our bait well was full to the max.

then we drifted east from there and caught at least 50 keeper macks, and a few nice trout along with 7 large ladies, we kept for chum.

over all it was a great day of catching.

Your Fishing Report Hooked up with neighbor Kurt, and  we were fishing the flats by 7:30 looking for some surface action, but it was already windy and very  wavy. So we  fish  for 1 hr. using surface lures and not a bite, so then we went out to the NEW marker north of the sand bar ( # 4) and tried there for 1/2 hr. and again nothing. Then we went into sand bay and caught some  real small trout.

The we stopped right in front of the beach in gulf Harbors and Kurt on the first cast hooked up with a nice 28″cobia. and I was catching gags right there also. They were  hitting  new penny shrimp of all things.  I also snagged a 20″ mack on a gold spoon.

thanks Kurt

Your Fishing Report Hooked up with Mike Travica at 7:30  at Anclote and we  got  lots of white bait at the sail boat, then headed  to a spot a charter friend of mine told  me to go. We fished for 45 minutes and didn’t  catch a thing so we went up to Gulf Harbors and did a drift. On the very first cast Mike hooked up on a large fish, and after 25 minutes we landed it. It was a 24 lb cobia. He caught it on  one of Bob L. white grubs.

Soon after that Jean Caught a nice  20 1/2″  Spanish mackerel on her favorite  gold spoon.

I didn’t catch anything to speak of.

Thanks for a fun  day of catching Mike.

Your Fishing Report Chuck Hammeke (friend from Kansas), Dave Gullickson, and I fished the area around Anclote Island and the sandbar and caught a few small trout.  Then out to 10 feet of water and had fun with several Spanish Mac’s and a variety of other fish.  Dave had the largest Spanish at 20 inches.

Your Fishing Report Chuck Hammeke (friend from Kansas), Mike Kaplan and I first went for white bait.  Chuck enjoyed seeing the skill Mike has throwing a cast net.  We got all the white bait we wanted and then headed for the canals.  We caught alot of Mangrove Snappers and kept 15 very nice ones.   Then headed out to 10 feet of water for spanish.  It was a little choppy, but we landed alot of fish going to 22 inches.  It was a fun day and I really was pleased that my boat performed well since it had been out since last November until this week.

Your Fishing Report I wandered out to the end of Hudson Canal. Drifted from there in about 8-10 feet of water at 74 deg.. I was throwing a silver spoon and white grubs on a red jig. Lots of small fish, mostly perch and a couple keeper trout. It got windy and choppy. The drift took me about 5 miles out. The ride back was very rough, but a good day.
