The solunar peak was 7;10–9;10 AM Caught a couple reds 20″ and a 24 and 25″ along with a couple shorts.  By 8:15 the bite slowed and I headed in before the heat of the day.

The sea gods were the best to us ever, 100% flat going out , all the time we were fishing and 3/4 of the way in. Most of the time we never anchored it was soo flat. Watch video and see how flat it was all day.

The first spot we went to was a sunken ship, and soon as we placed the buoy marker, 3 hugh cobia came around the boat,, and I was quick enough to get a live pin out to them, soon as it hit the water the biggest one hit it, I had it on for about 3-4 minutes and out of no where, my leader broke. This cobia was at least 50″ long and 40+ lbs. After that  we didn’t get a bit so we continued out to Mike honey holes 50 miles off shore, and wouldn’t you know it, there was someone on his spot, so we moved around and the ars bite was very poor. Mike caught 3 and one of which was legal at 17″.

So we moved  back in and  ended up getting our limit of red grouper. Mike B. got the biggest one way over 25″.

I also caught 2 monster mangrove snappers 20 & 21″.

enjoy video of one of Mike’s big grouper.

Even thought the ars bite was poor we had a good day catching grouper.

Thanks for a great day on the water
Mike.

Bite was slow at all out stops, managed to bring back one 17″ red snapper, one 27″ gag grouper and the usual grunts. Being with friends makes even the slow fishing days good ones. Thanks Jim, Pete and Terry!

State the length and species in the box below Kayak fishing with Joe H out front of Anclote Pier.  Out at sunrise on low tide we had a little redfish bite that got us some mid-slot keepers.  24′ and 22″ in pic. Couldn’t catch a trout big enough to keep. Saw manatee, big rays, and a pod of a dozen large tarpon that cruised right by my live bait. Small sail-cats all over the place.  We used live shrimp and live and cut pins.  Called it a day by 11:30 before it got too hot.  Nice day out on the water!

Your Fishing Report:   Hooked up with neighbors in Gulf Harbors Cody & Sean. We caught some nice size white bait in front of gulf harbors.

Then we went up by the still house for snook, not a bite, then we went around the Cody river, nothing, so we decided to go out by the Anclote island in about 15′ of water.

We chummed up with both live white bait and some dead ones, and not too soon later the bite was on. We hooked up on 13 snook and landed 7 of them. They were all over slot ones, the smallest ones was 34.

The afternoon storms were coming in so we had to pack it in and head home.

Enclosed is a video of one of my catches.

Thanks for a good day on the water Cody

When we got there , there was already a dive boat on the wreck, so we waited 45 minutes for them to do their dive, and then Jim positioned us right on top of the wreck and then fun began.

We got under size snapper, Jim got a monster cobia ( not in contest) it was 44″, I landed a large a.j., and Sean son Cody landed a 53″ barracuda. It almost spooled his reel, so Jim started the boat and we chased it.

We had a chum bag out and the mangrove snappers came up behind the boat, and we landed 8 nice ones

see video of Sean son bring in the big barracuda.

We all want to thank  Jim for a good day on the water and can’t wait to  go out to this spot again

Your Fishing Report: If this is a tournament report do not state the fish’s length in this box. State the length and species in the box below Jim T. My-self and Mike went out Saturday morning early out of Nick’s Park. We already had our pins so we sat back and enjoyed a long ride out to Mike’s favorites spots.

The first spot every time we put our lines down we had ARS on, they were all legal but small. so we moved 2-3 other spots and picked up 1 or 2 at each spot to fill the fish box.

Lucky Mike & Jim were catching all the A. J.’s and sharks, worn their asses out in that heat .

I got a Hugh gag for the year long tournament. We also caught some nice yellow tails snapper all over 17″ and a few nice Mangrove snappers.

Both Mike & I had fish sooo big on they broke our hooks in 1/2. ( guess I have to start buying American )

One neat thing we all saw was a water spout about 1-2 miles away as were driving out. It was breath taking to see it.

Jim & I want to thank Mike for a safe and productive day on the water.

See video attached of Mike in action on a big fish.
