Your Fishing Report: If this is a tournament report do not state the fish’s length in this box. State the length and species in the box below | Frank Bellizio asked me if I’d like to go out and try our luck with silver seatrout and I was happy to oblige. We headed out with an assortment of baits including frozen shrimp, crankbaits, gulp and a topwater lure (wishful thinking on my part even though it’s not the right season for it). | We were one of just a few boats fishing east of Anclote Key and both of us had hookups on our first cast, which proved not to be a bad omen for the day. After about 20 minutes we were one of about a dozen boats fishing the area. We tried some close up – shallow water fishing as well. We made several drifts and went to a few different spots and at the end of the day we had 24 in the box. Being a catch and release guy since getting back into fishing, I hadn’t cleaned a fish in many, many moons. But Frank took me through the right steps and as he cleaned them, I filleted them. As usual it was great to be on the water doing what we love to do. Thanks, Frank!
