Your Fishing Report: If this is a tournament report do not state the fish’s length in this box. State the length and species in the box below With the heat index hovering well over 100 degrees and with the water temp at 89 degrees, Lori and I still went out to find the fish that were not already cooked.  And with a nice westerly wind that kept us from cooking too, we certainly did find them.

We didn’t get bites on every cast but it was pretty close:  Lots of ladyfish and jack crevalle along with a few trout mixed in kept us pretty busy. And there was plenty of action with a topwater lute as well!

Sharks were also in the area and when I was reeling in a nice jumping (don’t they always?!) ladyfish the reel really started to scream.  But it was only about 5 seconds or so until it was back to normal and upon getting my catch to the boat I found that it was half gone, and ultimately lunch for Mr. Shark.

Hot but a great day on the water!
