Capt. Dencil Powell

I stopped up to visit Capt. Dencil today and drop off a Speedy Recovery card from the club.  Dencil was looking good and in good spirits.  He said to tell everyone he was working on getting his strength back and getting back on the water hopefully by late spring or early summer.  He also said to thank everyone for keeping him in their thoughts and prayers.  Dencil is still awaiting the results of his PET scan which should be coming on Monday when he visits his doctor.  He told me he would let me know the results when he found out so I will post here when I find something out.

About the Rajun Cajun

The Rajun Cajun holds a special place in the hearts of all FishOn Fishing Club members.  As many of you know Dencil has had fights with Cancer in the past and today I saw his most recent post on FaceBook regarding his present condition.  I do Dencil’s website and speak to him regularly and from my previous conversations, I have learned that when he is in the middle of treatments, particularly those around or in his mouth, he does not like to take phone calls.  He does however appreciate messages on his website and FaceBook.  Let’s all send our thoughts and prayers to him during this difficult time. Frank B. He has two websites you can send messages on:

Another way to get exceptional fishing and support Wish to Fish

A couple of weeks ago I posted a fishing report with a picture of me holding a big snook.  I caught the snook while on a charter with Capt. Rob Gorta of FishingStPetersburg.com.  I told him about our club’s Wish to Fish program for kids and he said he would like to support the program  He agreed to make a contribution to Wish To Fish of 10% of any charters made with him from our club members so if you want a great day of fishing and you want to support our Wish To Fish program this is a great deal.  Capt Rob also offers excellent Tarpon Fishing outings which I did with him last year.  Give me a call or drop me an email if you have any questions.

We could not connect with the reds on our last trip so  we thought we should try for the Reds again. We hooked up with Capt Eric and went to Tampa Bay.  It was a foggy morning then the weather changed to great. After some delay the fish were coming our way. White bait was on the menu but the Reds wanted cut bait. Many fish were caught including these two. Also caught a hefty Jack and a Snook.
