Fishing Report:
Frank Bellizio and I finally got back out on the water and had a great day after setting the hook (sorry – olde sailor speak for dropping the anchor) and stayed in one spot for the rest of the day. Speckled sea trout were consistent as were various sizes of puffers who put on a show begging to go back in the water. (The ubiquitous cormorants know to avoid them) At any rate we had a good day of fishing in the bright sunshine and, after the wind died down a bit, fair seas.

Fishing Report:
After picking up 500 of the freshest shrimp we went to the north to one of my sheepshead spots in 21 ft of water . We had very slow tides today until late in the day but we got the fish going pretty good with the guys boxing 12 nice sheepshead there before heading deeper for the hogfish . First spot in 46 ft wasn’t that good on the hogs but the grunts there were 14 inch average so we took about 70 of them off that spot and then pushed out to 60ft for a hot bite on the hogs with the 5 guys (Dave

Fishing Report:
Went Kayak fishing at the Salt Spring State Park Saturday with Phil Ackley. The tide was outgoing and there wasn’t much strength to the flow. I fished frozen shrimp at the narrow cut through catching short black drum, red drum, sheep head and some ladyfish. after the tide turned and the water depth increased we moved to the back of the park and set up casting toward shore with white paddle tails. No bite till a 21 inch speckled trout hit and nothing afterwords.

Fishing Report:
Went out kayaking with Bill Herr in salt springs, was a little slow but went to the back of the springs and we caught a couple nice trout. Bill caught a 21 inch trout on white paddle tail and I caught a 16.5 inch trout on shrimp. We had a fun day and it was one of the last warm days before this cold front sets in.

Took my grandson off shore about 12 miles , we caught at least 70 grunts and various others. Moved about a mile north and got into some nice Black Sea bass. Actually just submitting this to test out the new form.

Went out in kayak in salt springs, outgoing tide. Caught 12 nice trout on white paddle tails on 1/8 oz jig head. Caught this nice snook on shrimp.

State the length and species in the box below Thursday Mike Spanhel Terry  Reelitz, Bob Cohen and his wife Sharon a gentleman named Barry and myself went offshore with Captain Carlos targeting Hog Fish. We caught not only Hog Fish but a ton of nice size Grunts, Red and Gag Grouper, mangrove Snapper and Trigger fish. Just a bit choppy on the way out but settled down pretty much as we started fishing. We were fishing at 30-50 depths. Captain Carlos and his 1st Mate Jeremy move around as needed. The only bait we used was small chunks of squid to get the bite going then small pieces of shrimp. Everyone caught there share of Grunt and hog fish with 10 keeper Hogs! And many more under size. I caught what I still swear was at LEAST a 40” gag but my fishing partners said the ruler showed 31.5”. A great fish on a hog fish rod set up. A great day on the water!

State the length and species in the box below Had to run out to the stilt houses to retrieve my pin fish trap.  Pedaled back into salt springs near the research center and caught this snook on the first cast.  I caught several catfish, a mangrove snapper and a lady fish.  The snook hit on a white DOA paddle tail on a 1/8 jighead.
