Your Fishing Report: If this is a tournament report do not state the fish’s length in this box. State the length and species in the box below Jim was kind enough to invite Rick U, Mark C, and myself on an offshore trip Friday targeting gags and hogs.  Picked up the pinfish from the traps and headed out 20 plus miles to our first stop and were fishing by 0845.  Fishing was steady all day but with many smaller gags and many beautiful red grouper (out of season).  2 legal hogs were taken along with catching several small hogs on Rick U’s huge shrimp (prawns).  Cut bait and live pins caught the grouper.  Jim caught the only keeper gag and I caught a keeper sized red grouper that went back – he was a fatty that I had to pull from the rocks.  A goliath grouper was on the last spot and we all got broken off by it, by sharks and by rocky bottom.  4 nice mangrove snapper were also caught one was a fat 21 inches, and one 17 in, with 2 around 15 or 16 inches.  Flat ride home and beautiful weather all day.  On the pics you will see a rag on my  head because I lost my hat!!  Thanks Jim for a fun and safe day offshore.
If this report includes a tournament entry please state the species and length of the fish caught in this box. Jim Thurkill – 27 in gag

State the length and species in the box below Butch ,Craig and I met at the ramp in the dark to go fishing . Off we went as the sun came up. Out cam the spoons as we left the dock and ran them all the way out of the channel. A couple of hits and one mackerel takin into the boat.  Off to the south to a few spots looking for some reds!  None today ! So off a little  further south and the wind picked up ! A little rough now so we drifted which made it better to fish Throwing plastic . We were moving about a mile and a half so not so bad. Fishing was spotty south so we just keep moving north to our different spots .we caught a lot of really different fish today all small but a least they were biting gulp.  A few trout  were caught among all the other fish , no lady fish today which is usually not a problem catching them.  We even used some shrimp and cut bait on a bobber . A nice  size mackerel on a shrimp at the end of the day.  The wind made it difficult to stay in one spot but traveling the miles we did opened up a few new spots we can really  try the next time out. We had a lot of laughs  together as usual looking for our next trip out on the water.

Outgoing tide water still 81-82 degrees

Hit Green 7 and Green 5 – Crab pots are showing up in both areas.

Plenty of Trout and Sharks – had a blast with both, both live and frozen shrimp – didn’t seem to bother the fish, they ate both

The bigger Trout did seem to lean to a white DOA paddle tail

A good time was had by all

Your Fishing Report: If this is a tournament report do not state the fish’s length in this box. State the length and species in the box below Left Skeleton Key Marina at 7:45, to target Mango’s and Hogfish.  Rick showed up with 500 shrimp, purchased from Coopers for $45.00  That comes to about $1.00 a dozen, great value if you are going to target hogfish.  Seas were pretty smooth running to 59′.  First drop, Rick caught a keeper hogfish and I hung a 23′ red grouper.  Not a bad start but Red Groper is closed so it was released.  Then the Mangroves started to come over the gunnel as well as a lot of short hogfish, short red grouper and an occasional short gag grouper.  Just as Rick said to reel them in for the run home, I hooked the last fish, a 17″ hogfish. We ran home finishing with 11 mangos, 4 hogfish and a bunch of grunts.  About 1/2 way in the port engine quit,  After examining and contemplating the problem, we decided the fuel pump had quit as the engine ran fine as long as someone was pumping the ball.  We could run about 20 mph doing this and your hand gets real tired continuously pumping the ball but we made it in without the assistance of Tow Boat US
