State the length and species in the box below Team Freddie & Bonnie invited Joe Stand and Terry Reelitz for a day on the water looking for some ARS and Red Grouper.Reports called for calm seas and sunshine, we got exactly that. Headed out bright and early with the sunrise to our back and high hopes.Made a bait stop in about 50’ – loaded up wit Squirrels and Grunts, also had Threads, Squid and some Octopus on ice as well.Trip out to +100’ was smooth, action was fast and furious on the first drift. Current was  cooperating as it only took 10 & 12 ounces to stay down drifting.The first couple hours of drifting were productive – Squirrels, Grunt heads or fillets got the biggest and Threads were very popular with the RG’s – we headed even deeper to make a run at the ARS.While running deeper Captain Freddie spotted a floating board and we stopped to see if any sea creatures were lurking beneath the 3’ chunk of wood.Holy Mackerel, all hell broke loose – there were hundreds of Mahi-Mahi cruising around! We put small hooks on with squid, it was total mayhem for the next 30-40 minutes. They came in wave after wave, it was crazy. Squid was their choice of treat. Getting down past the little ‘uns was the hardest part – once you got past the little squirts the nice fatties were hungry and willing. The weighted hooks did help getting down a little quicker. The Mahi also ate strips of ‘Fish Bites’ in bright pink, the weighted hooks also worked well trolling.Exciting time, we boated 40 Mahi in the frenzy.Finished off ARS limit,  headed back to RG area to fill out our limit. Bite was back to being active, it didn’t take long.Also had a visitor, a 7’ Nurse decided to Terry Reelitz busy for about 20 minutes.Joe ‘Hot Rod’ Stand got it done with number eight being a fat 27” Grouper, claiming ‘Sweet Cheeks’ Award. That goes along with ‘Kicking ‘ARS’ and takin’ names Award with a 24” fattie Red Snapper.It was time to head in-  seas were flat the ride was nice ‘A good time was had by all’Thank you, Freddie and Bonnie!

If this report includes a tournament entry please state the species and length of the fish caught in this box. Finally a chance to look for some Red Snapper. With Terry F, Mike B and Mark C, we headed out  almost 60 mi in search of some good bottom. Using Threadfins and Squid mainly, we did good at the 4 spots we stopped at. 3 of our ARS were at least 31”. Terry caught the monster of the day at 32 1/4”. All of the Red Grouper were really fat. By the time we headed home at 1, the fishbox was full and we had our limit of ARS.The ride home was smooth finishing a really great day.

State the length and species in the box below Due to a last-minute cancellation, I got a chance to go ARS fishing with CAPTAIN CARLOS on the BOTTOMS UP on Friday JUN 30. 6 fisherman left ANCLOTE RIVER at 730 and ran for 2 hours and 15 minutes to 135 feet. Ride out was bumpy but we had a following sea, so it was not too bad.We had 6 drops on the trip all within a few miles of each other once we reached the grounds. Every drop was red hot with a variety of ARS, RED GROUPER, and LANE SNAPPER with lost 1 lost YELLOW TAIL SNAPPER. Myself I caught 4 ARS, 7 RED GROUPER, and 10 LANE SNAPPER. Of the RED GROUPER caught on the trip only 3 made the 20-inch cut. We had a limit of ARS and lots of LANES and assorted other SNAPPER. The trip back took longer than going out due to building seas thru out the day. It was the roughest boat ride I was ever on, for 2.5 hours, but at the end of the day it was worth the great fishing. I had 1 RED GROUPER I think would have made the cut by on the way up I was sharked. When I got the head to the surface there was an 8-foot shark following it. If you want to go for ARS and don’t own a boat to get you out there check with CARLOS because there are always people that cancel out.

State the length and species in the box below Sunday 6/23 Captain Joe Stand invited the duo Bob & Shelli Sauban along with Terry Reelitz for a quiet day on the water according to Mr. NOAA.Well at about 6:30 AM when we hit the channel, we found out differently, it was a little rocky to say the least. Nonetheless we headed West with plans to limit out on RG’s and ARS.Loaded up with the typical frozen stuff – Squid, Ladyfish & Threadfins, we made one stop to pick up some Squirrels and Grunts. Loaded up the live well and headed to +100’ of blue water. Difficult to stay on plane so it took longer than normal but we finally arrived on the spot.Lots of short RG’s, I know that is a surprise. Squid and threads produced the most bites, Ladyfish heads and Grunts produced the biggest fish, but the slowest bite – it’s a trade -off.We had three RG’s in the well, the gang got antsy for ARS action, so we headed deeper. ARS bite was very active, with a couple exceptions the ARS were normal size with a couple big un’s in the mix, but a limit. Again, Threads produced the most bites, Ladyfish heads, Grunts and Squirrels although slower bites typically bagged the bigger fish.Headed in a little earlier than would of afforded another stop to finish out the RG limit, but a satisfying day all around with plenty of action and very little slow periods. The choice of baits kept the fish active.Shelli ‘Hot Rod’ Sauban had BIG FISH HONORS for both RG’s and ARS’s. Shelli took home RG Award ‘Sweet Cheeks Winner’ with a 26” Grouper ‘Kickin’ ARS and takin’ names’ with a 26” American Red Snapper – both came off of LadyFish head and Squirrel.Luckily, ride home was smother, although a little wet but ‘A great time was had by all’Thank you, Captain Joe, for a great trip

State the length and species in the box below Freddie Penrow, Bonnie Allen, Joe Stand and Terry Reelitz headed out on a picture-perfect Florida day to go chase some Red Grouper for the day.The ride out to +100’ depth was comfortable, two quick stops for bait was all that was needed to fill the live well with squirrels and grunts.The action started out before the boat waves had even subsided – BOOM! Bonnie Allen bags a 31” Red Grouper right out of the gate. Let me tell you, all eyes aboard lit up like it was an early Christmas and all the holiday stockings were stuffed with fat RG’s.The tide was moving, the water was crystal clear and plenty of baits were in the water – we threw all the usual baits at ‘em, sardines, squirrels, grunt filets, ladyfish…Well reality set in quickly. The bite turned tedious to say the least for anything over 19.5”s, there were plenty of shorts to say the least.Bonnie ‘Hot Rod’ Allen picked up her second RG, a fat 27” Red Grouper. The rest of us struggled getting anything over 19” – the shorts were a nuisance. The Venting tool and Descender came in really handy as all the little guys went back home in good shape.Bonnie & Terry had plenty of time to put out a second rod for little snappers – at least the tasty little critters cooperated.Captain Freddie made the decision to head deeper, we ventured out to about 130’. The current was ripping pretty well out there and luckily the bite picked up. Ladyfish, filets, and squirrels started to turn the tide as the bite quality finally picked up, Freddie bagged a 24” for third biggest for the day – we filled the rest of the limit out with several 20 + a scooch.The trip out to deeper waters did serve as an unexpected surprise as the ARS bite was active and the sonar did reveal multiple very interesting and inviting ‘Red Christmas Trees’. All ARS were returned to grow some more in anticipation of the ARS season.Finally filling out the limit we were able to head in, no doubt Bonne Allen had the ‘Hot Rod’ for the day and was without a doubt the ‘Sweet Cheeks’ Winner – awesome performance!!Thanks Captain Freddie, ‘A great time was had by all.’

State the length and species in the box below After a really windy month, we jumped at the great conditions on Tues to find some Red Grouper. The crew consisted of myself, Mike B, Mark C and friend Joe. We left early from Nick’s Park and emptied our Pinfish traps and started our 2 hour ride to the Red Grouper bottom.Seas were less than a foot and the ride was very comfortable for a change. As soon as we got to the first spot we started catching small reds. We moved around to other spots close by and by the end of the day we had caught 5 nice Red Grouper to 26 1/2 in and some nice Mangrove Snappers to 21 in. We also caught a good mix of Lane and Vermillion Snappers. We were using a mix of live and dead bait.We quit by 2 and enjoyed the smooth ride home. Anot
