State the length and species in the box below | I hooked up with my neighbor Captain James for a day of catching. There were 6 of us on his 27′ sea hunt.James recently got some good red grouper #, 60 miles off shore he want to try, we left at 6:00 am, and our 1st stop was to get white bait at maker 4. 15 minutes there and we had a dozen or so big white bait.At the first spot the big grouper were chewing, we had 6 in the box within 1/2 hr. The bait of choice was 4″ pieces of lady fish, and cut up grunts.We moved 2 more times and totally limited out with 12 red grouper, and a few nice lanes. At the last spot James threw out a free liner and to our surprise we tied up with a 30 lb tuna, it took 40minutes to get it in, what a fight on light tackle.On the way in we stopped at a wreck 40 miles off shore and played with the amber jacks for 3/4 hr. James’s daughter never caught one and she landed 3, I got 2 and biggest was 42″.So we had a great day on the water and can’t wait to try those #’s againRick Uffa |
