Your Fishing Report: If this is a tournament report do not state the fish’s length in this box. State the length and species in the box below Captain Mike Spanhel invited Dave Taylor, Frank Bellizio, and yours truly for a day of huntin’ and hookin’ for whatever would cooperate.A bit cool in the morning but winds and the sea were comfortable as we headed out at 8:00 AM with and outgoing tide and low tide scheduled around Noon.Loaded up with 10 dozen live shrimp, frozen shrimp, Sardines and Squid – a short run and first stop was in about 35’ of water – water temps about 63 degrees.Hopes were high for some Hogfish, but some pesky 3 and 4 taco Grunts got in the way along with some above average Sheeps – biggest was close to 18”.Captain Mike kept moving around the ledge –  then the big girls decided to come out and play.Over the next couple hours Grouper action got pretty wild. We would stop at a new spot, stir up the Grunts and Puffer fish (at least one of the guys was tickled pink!) – then put out the Squid and Sardines. Big chunks of Squid and cut Sardines were the ticket. All told we put 6 keepers in the box and released +20 just shorts.Dave Taylor had honors with the biggest Grouper by a ¼”. Dave used a rather unique system to win Big Fish bragging rights. It started when he hooked up and got rocked by a big bruiser – he let it sit in the rocks for a good 30-40 minutes – eating and growing during all that time down there. When he was sure he got an extra ¼” he brought in the bruiser – what a fight and a beaut of a fish! It was an awesome fight!Started to get overcast about 1:00 and wind picked up a little – so all decided it was a good time to head in as we had a lot of fish to clean.Of interest, 3 of the Gags had broken off rigs deep in the gut but were still eating and one Gag had half dozen cut Sardine heads in the stomach – I swear I recognized a couple of ‘em as mine – go figure.Ride was smooth all the way back and a ‘good time was had by all’ – Thank you Captain Mike for a great time!!!!!!

Meet up with Phil Ackley shortly after the gate opened and found a path through the mangroves using all  3 inches of  draft on my kayak. After a couple of hours with little action, I tossed a shrimp up into a tailing red and this one took the bait. Broke my rod in the process on boating the fish. Measured on Phil’s board at 29.5 inches.

Your Fishing Report: If this is a tournament report do not state the fish’s length in this box. State the length and species in the box below A group of FOC members braved the cool morning temperatures for the chance to have ‘A fun day of fishing’ it proved out that eleven FOC members made a wise decision. The morning temperature was brisk, but within a fleeting period it became a gorgeous Fla. morning. The day held lofty expectations for a Gag onslaught, to be garnished by plentiful side dishes of taco producing Grunts.Well, the fishing was a tad slower than expectations, but the good times were plentiful – and the FOC Club held its own vs. the rest of the boat. The day started out with fresh brewed coffee and breakfast sandwiches that were killer’.The Two Georges captain stopped and picked up several dozen pinfish before heading north of Hudson fishing waters 30’-60’.All told there were thirty-five fishin’ customers on board the Two George’s. The FOC Club had eleven members that made the trip, those being – Dave Gullickson, Frank Bellizio, Bill Herr, Rhys Taylor, Denis Surette, Bob & Sharon Cohen, Gary Melton, Dave Taylor, Jeff Goldstein, and yours truly Terry Reelitz. So, the tide/current was a tad lazy and the winds a little brisker that expected – the end result was a bite that was slower than expected. The captain worked his butt off with multiple drops and not staying on a spot that didn’t produced bites. For the day, the entire boat only caught 6 keeper Gags, and threw back about another 8 or so shorts. The FOC Club held its own by catching 3 of those keepers and releasing another 4-5 shorts. So, the deal was that FOC group had a friggin’ blast – the day turned out toasty warm and we stayed outside for the most part swapping stories, tellin’ lies about fishing and just having a great time.We  need to do this again in December!!!!!A ‘good time was had by all’

State the length and species in the box below Denis Surette and I headed out for a day of inshore fishing from Tarpon Springs at about 10 am.  It was still an outgoing tide but the water was high.  We first headed up the Anclote and fished a few of my favorite spots but could even buy a bite.  We through live shrimp and plastic.  We trolled out to the area near Miss Vickie’s and gave it a shot but nothing happen here either so we headed out to the area near marker 5.  We fished this area all the way out to IC marker 9 and all we could catch were very small trout, puffers and lizard fish.  Not the best of fishing days but the weather was good and the seas calm.  It was a good day on the water fishing, not catching, with a friend, it doesn’t get any better.
